Jays offering $1 hotdogs

We all know times are tough.  Any anyone who has been to a semi or professional sporting event knows that you have to purchase all your food at the venue – $5 stale popcorn anyone?  $6 hotdogs?  Well, the Jays have decided that maybe offering food at a reasonable price may offer incentives for families to buy tickets, and I agree.  I know this opportunity has spurred conversation in my household, and we definatley have been influenced.

You know what, I think it is a great idea – of course, once you get in, you will have to spend $7 to buy a lemonade, but I’m all for making sure we support all business, the big and the little.  I don’t mind that the hotdogs are probably small.  I’m just thinking that for a little while at least, it would be great to chatch a game and not have to spend a ridiculous amount of it on food.

It would have been a great opportunity for the Jays to partner with a one of their corporate sponsors in this initiative – good way to feature a partner, great way to show the fans they care and want them to come out to the ball game.

Good going Jays…
