So, it appears that the sponsorship rights issue between Labatt and Molson has not gone away. The last updated in July indicated that Molson had been won the legal battle for the sponsorship rights. But now, according to the Toronto Star, things are not quite cleared up.
While this battle re-enforces the growing allure and power of the NHL in North America, it can’t be good for either brand to be battling so close to the start of the season. We will have to keep a watch on how this turns out – answers will be found on TV commercials and in your next case of beer.
